While doing reserach for another project, I came across the website listed below with some very interesting facts and figures. What I would like to know is exactly what was Lincoln’s proposal and the reaction of the both the North and the South<\/p>\n

The actual value of the slaves was $4-6 billion.<\/strong><\/p>\n I do recall reading that Lincoln’s value per slave being one of the complaints of the slaveowners.
