I had to reduce this to the point where it is almost blurry, it may look better if it is saved and viewd in your photo editor. Pat if you can re-adjust this image for a better view, please do so.

his seems an appropriate place to post the article below. It isn’t “electioneering” or even politics and as such should not affect our attempt to get tax exempt status. It is simply a quote by today’s “Commander in Chief” regarding his thwarted plan to make soldiers pay for medical treatment incurred owing to duty-related injuries and diseases:
This was sent to me by a good friend.. It’s on CNN political website. I don’t care what your political views are, you must read this!
Here is the President’s response when he backed off from his decision to let the military pay for their war injuries! SEND THIS TO EVERYONE TO SHOW JUST WHAT HE THINKS OF OUR MILITARY WHO FIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY AND GET HURT PROTECTING OUR FREEDOM!
Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty.
The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.
“Look, it’s an all volunteer force,” Obama complained. “Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn’t compute…
“I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country,” Obama continued. “I wasn’t asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I’d have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation’s deficit. I guess I underestimated the selfishness of some of my fellow Americans.”
Please pass this on to every vet and their families whom you know. The Obama administration plans to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for the treatment service related injuries of military personnel -Truth! – but cancelled – for now!

i read this the other day and it just really p’d me off. for someone to sacrifice thier mind, body and life should never be ask to pay for health care if they are injured in the line of duty. we as a country owe health care to our soldiers. we dont owe health care to the politicans that are killing our constitutional rights but they are covered for life. imagine that! gp, with your permisson i would like to use the poem and prayer for dedications of confederate grave markers and other ceremonies.

I have not made a study of this; what I know is very sketchy, but correct. Below are a series of websites which will help you learn more about it. Because I’m already over my head in books and particular subject matters regarding the War et al., I just can’t get into this particular subject in any depth. However, I do seriously suggest that any true Southron should make it his or her business to learn all about it and put an end to this “bipartisan” glorification of the battle and the Yankees who fought it.

This review is from: Wasted Valor: The Confederate Dead at Gettysburg (Hardcover)
Again Gregory Coco’s work is an absolute must have for anyone interested in the Battle of Gettysburg. Coco’s devotion for giving the reader the cold hard truths and facts regarding the treatment of the Confederate dead is excellent. Not only is this book informative, but it also mentions various true stories of Confederate soldiers that died on the battlefield or who were mortaly wounded. Actual burial places of the soldiers are covered as well. Coco points out places along the battlefield where rows of the Confederate fallen were laid to rest. He also covers attempts by families to capture or find their deceased father, son or brother. Coco’s book gives credit to where it is deserved as Confederates were not properly looked after or interred as Union soldiers were in the National Cemetery in Gettysburg.
