My G-G-grandfather, Henry Bogan, FINALLY has a sevice marker!
I’ve been waiting for this for quite a few years now. The government would never approve him one,but last year at the Camp Moore reenactment, they had a few that had incorrect information on them, so they weren’t going to be used, so we got them and had them reworked, and one is now ready for my G-G-Grandfather! I’ll be placing it Saturday, then all we have to do is figure out when we can have a marker dedication for him so he can be given the honors he never got when he was laid to rest! Many thanks go to David Hill for helping make this happen!
Here’s a portrait of Henry that I drew.
The stone will be placed on his gravesite in New Ebeneezer Cemetery in Castor, LA. I know he was a POW at Camp Chase,I don’t know anything about what he went through while he was there. I do have an article that I wrote about him that I submitted to The Confederate Veteran which they still haven’t printed yet if you’d like to use that.
